Genetic Engineering

Genetic Engineering is the process of manipulating the genetic material of an organism to alter its traits or characteristics. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, genetic engineering can be used to modify the genetic makeup of organisms that are sent to space, such as plants or bacteria, to make them more resilient to the harsh conditions of space. Genetic engineering can also be used to create new organisms that are better suited for space exploration, such as organisms that can produce oxygen or break down waste products. Additionally, genetic engineering can be used to study the effects of space travel on living organisms, by comparing the genetic makeup of organisms that have been in space to those that have not.
