Gas Processing

Gas processing is the process of converting raw natural gas into marketable products. This involves removing impurities and contaminants from the gas stream, as well as separating and recovering valuable natural gas liquids (NGLs) such as ethane, propane, and butane. Gas processing typically involves several stages, including separation, dehydration, sweetening, and fractionation. Separation involves separating the raw gas stream into its individual components, while dehydration removes any water vapor from the gas. Sweetening involves removing any sulfur compounds from the gas, which can be harmful to pipelines and equipment. Fractionation involves separating the NGLs from the natural gas stream, which can then be sold as separate products. Gas processing is an important part of the natural gas industry, as it allows for the production of valuable NGLs and ensures that natural gas meets pipeline quality standards.
