Gas Exchange

Gas exchange is the process by which oxygen and carbon dioxide move between the atmosphere and the cells of the body. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, gas exchange is a critical factor in the design and operation of life support systems for spacecraft and habitats. These systems must be able to provide a breathable atmosphere for crew members, while also removing carbon dioxide and other contaminants. Gas exchange is also important in the study of planetary atmospheres, as it can provide insights into the composition and evolution of these environments.
