Fuel Types

Fuel types refer to the various types of propellants used to power spacecraft and rockets. These propellants can be either liquid or solid and are chosen based on their specific impulse, density, and other factors. Liquid propellants are typically made up of a fuel and an oxidizer, while solid propellants are made up of a mixture of fuel and oxidizer that is cast into a solid form. Some common liquid propellants include liquid hydrogen, liquid oxygen, and kerosene, while common solid propellants include ammonium perchlorate composite propellant (APCP) and hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB). The choice of propellant depends on the specific mission requirements, such as the desired velocity change, payload mass, and mission duration.
