Flame Deflector
A flame deflector is a device used to protect the launch pad from the flames and heat generated by the rocket engines during launch. It is typically made of a heat-resistant material and is positioned directly beneath the engines. The deflector redirects the exhaust plume away from the launch pad and prevents damage to the pad and surrounding structures. The design of the flame deflector is critical to ensure that it can withstand the extreme heat and pressure of the rocket engines, and that it effectively redirects the exhaust plume. The deflector may also include a water deluge system to further protect the launch pad from heat and fire.
