Atmospheric Entry

Atmospheric entry is the process of entering a planet's atmosphere from outer space. During this process, a spacecraft experiences high temperatures and pressures due to the friction between the atmosphere and the spacecraft's surface. The spacecraft must be designed to withstand these extreme conditions and to slow down from its high speed in space to a safe landing speed on the planet's surface. The design of the spacecraft's heat shield is critical to protect the spacecraft and its crew from the high temperatures generated during atmospheric entry. The angle of entry and the timing of the spacecraft's descent are also important factors to ensure a safe landing.
