Extravehicular Activities (EVAs)
Extravehicular activities (EVAs) are operations performed by an astronaut outside a spacecraft beyond the Earth's atmosphere. EVAs are performed to carry out tasks such as repairing or maintaining spacecraft, conducting scientific experiments, and testing new equipment. EVAs are also performed during spacewalks, which are used to move around and explore the space environment. EVAs require specialized equipment such as spacesuits, tethers, and tools to ensure the safety of the astronaut. The duration of an EVA can range from a few minutes to several hours, and the astronaut is constantly monitored by ground control. EVAs are an essential part of space exploration and have been used in many missions, including the Apollo program, the International Space Station, and the Hubble Space Telescope.
