Environmental Control System
Environmental Control System (ECS) is a critical subsystem of a spacecraft that maintains a habitable environment for the crew and payload. ECS is responsible for regulating temperature, humidity, air quality, and pressure inside the spacecraft. It also manages the removal of carbon dioxide, water vapor, and other contaminants from the air. ECS consists of several components, including heat exchangers, compressors, filters, and sensors. The system operates by circulating air through the spacecraft and adjusting its properties as needed. Failure of the ECS can lead to serious health risks for the crew and damage to the payload. Therefore, the design and operation of the ECS must be carefully planned and tested to ensure its reliability and safety.
