Elliptical Orbit
In space and astronautical engineering, an elliptical orbit is a type of orbit in which a spacecraft or celestial body follows an oval-shaped path around another celestial body due to the gravitational pull between them. The shape of the orbit is determined by the eccentricity, which is the measure of how much the orbit deviates from a perfect circle. In an elliptical orbit, the distance between the two objects varies throughout the orbit, with the closest point being the perigee and the farthest point being the apogee. This type of orbit is commonly observed in the solar system, with planets and moons following elliptical paths around the sun or their parent planet.
