Earth Station (aka Ground Station)
An Earth Station, also known as a Ground Station, is a terrestrial radio station designed to communicate with spacecraft, including satellites, rockets, and other space vehicles. Earth Stations are equipped with antennas, receivers, and transmitters that allow them to send and receive signals to and from spacecraft in orbit. They are typically located in remote areas with minimal radio interference and are often operated by government agencies or private companies. Earth Stations play a critical role in space missions, providing a vital link between spacecraft and ground-based control centers. They are used for a variety of purposes, including tracking spacecraft, monitoring their health and status, and sending commands to control their movements and operations.
