CCD

CCD stands for Charge-Coupled Device. It is a type of image sensor used in space and astronautical engineering to capture images of celestial objects. The charge is then transferred from pixel to pixel until it reaches the edge of the array, where it is read out and converted into a digital signal. They are preferred over other types of image sensors because they are highly sensitive, have low noise, and can capture images with high resolution and dynamic range.
