Thermal Management Systems
Thermal Management Systems (TMS) are a critical component of spacecraft design and operation, responsible for regulating the temperature of spacecraft and its subsystems. TMS are designed to manage the heat generated by electronic components, propulsion systems, and crew members, as well as to protect the spacecraft from extreme temperatures in space. TMS use a variety of techniques to regulate temperature, including radiators, heat pipes, and thermal blankets. Radiators are used to dissipate heat into space, while heat pipes transfer heat from one location to another. Thermal blankets are used to insulate sensitive components from extreme temperatures. TMS are essential for ensuring the reliability and longevity of spacecraft, as well as for maintaining the health and safety of crew members.
