Blackbody Radiation

Blackbody radiation refers to the electromagnetic radiation emitted by a perfect blackbody, which is an idealized object that absorbs all radiation that falls on it and emits radiation at all frequencies. The radiation emitted by a blackbody depends only on its temperature and the wavelength of the radiation. As the temperature of a blackbody increases, the amount of radiation emitted at all wavelengths increases, and the peak of the radiation shifts to shorter wavelengths. This relationship is described by Planck's law, which is a fundamental equation in the field of quantum mechanics. Blackbody radiation has important applications in space and astronautical engineering, including the design of thermal control systems for spacecraft and the study of the cosmic microwave background radiation, which is thought to be the residual radiation from the Big Bang.
