Axes

In space and astronautical engineering, axes refer to the three mutually perpendicular reference lines that are used to define the orientation of a spacecraft or any other object in space. The three axes are the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis. The X-axis is the line that runs from the spacecraft's center of mass to the right, the Y-axis runs from the center of mass to the top, and the Z-axis runs from the center of mass towards the front of the spacecraft.
