Astrobiology

Astrobiology is a multidisciplinary field that studies the origin, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe. It combines knowledge and methods from biology, chemistry, geology, astronomy, and physics to understand the conditions that allow life to exist and thrive in different environments, from Earth to other planets, moons, and even exoplanets. Astrobiologists investigate the physical and chemical properties of celestial bodies, the history of their formation and evolution, the potential habitable zones and biosignatures, and the adaptation and survival strategies of organisms in extreme conditions. They also explore the ethical, social, and philosophical implications of discovering extraterrestrial life and the impact of space exploration on the environment and human society.
