Anode
In space and astronautical engineering, an anode is an electrode that is positively charged relative to a negatively charged cathode. Anodes are used in various electrical systems, including ion thrusters, which are a type of electric propulsion used in spacecraft. In an ion thruster, the anode is typically made of a material that can withstand high temperatures and erosion from the ionized gas that is expelled from the thruster. Anodes are also used in electroplating, which is a process used to coat a metal object with a thin layer of another metal. In this context, the anode is the metal object that is being coated, and it is connected to the positive terminal of a power source.
