Aluminum Alloys

Aluminum alloys are metallic materials composed of aluminum as the main metal and other elements such as copper, magnesium, zinc, and silicon. These alloys are widely used in the aerospace industry due to their high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and good thermal and electrical conductivity. Aluminum alloys are used in the construction of aircraft structures, engine components, and spacecraft due to their low density and high strength. The most commonly used aluminum alloys in the aerospace industry are 2024, 6061, and 7075. 2024 is used for structural components and aircraft skins, 6061 is used for fuselage and wing structures, and 7075 is used for high-stress structural components such as landing gear and wing spars.
