Alkaline Earth Metals

Alkaline Earth Metals are a group of metallic elements in the periodic table with two valence electrons in their outermost shell. These elements include Beryllium, Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, Barium, and Radium. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, these metals are used in various applications due to their unique properties. Beryllium is used in lightweight structural components and mirrors for space telescopes. Magnesium is used in the construction of spacecraft and rockets due to its low density and high strength. Calcium is used in the production of heat-resistant alloys for rocket engines. Strontium is used in the production of ferrite magnets for spacecraft and satellites. Barium is used in the production of getters for vacuum tubes and spacecraft. Radium, due to its radioactivity, has no significant use in space and astronautical engineering.
