Air Traffic Control

Air Traffic Control (ATC) is a system of ground-based controllers who direct aircraft on the ground and in the air. The primary purpose of ATC is to prevent collisions, expedite and maintain an orderly flow of air traffic, and provide information and support for pilots. ATC controllers use radar, radio communication, and other technologies to monitor and manage air traffic. They provide pilots with information about weather conditions, runway closures, and other potential hazards. ATC also plays a critical role in emergency situations, such as directing aircraft to safe landing spots during engine failures or other malfunctions.
