Voltage Regulators
Voltage regulators are electronic devices that maintain a constant output voltage level despite changes in input voltage or load current. In space and astronautical engineering, voltage regulators are critical components of power management systems for spacecraft and satellites. They ensure that the electrical systems on board operate within safe voltage limits and prevent damage to sensitive electronics. Voltage regulators can be either linear or switching, with switching regulators being more efficient but also more complex. They may also include features such as overvoltage protection, undervoltage lockout, and thermal shutdown to further protect the system. Overall, voltage regulators play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and longevity of electrical systems in space applications.
