UV-C Light

UV-C light is a type of ultraviolet light with a wavelength between 200 and 280 nanometers. It is a powerful disinfectant that can destroy bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms by damaging their DNA and preventing them from replicating. In space and astronautical engineering, UV-C light is used for sterilization and decontamination of surfaces and equipment in spacecraft and space stations. It is also used for water purification and air filtration systems to maintain a clean and safe environment for astronauts. UV-C light can be generated by specialized lamps or LEDs, and its effectiveness depends on factors such as the intensity and duration of exposure, the distance from the light source, and the type of material being disinfected.
