United States Global Change Research Program (USGCRP)


The United States Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) is a collaborative program that coordinates and integrates federal research on changes in the global environment and their implications for society. The program was established in 1989 and is mandated by Congress to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Earth system, including the effects of human-induced and natural changes, and to develop tools and knowledge to help society respond effectively to those changes. The USGCRP is composed of 13 federal agencies and departments that conduct research, provide assessments of the state of knowledge, and develop science-based resources to support decision-making at all levels of society.
