United States Armed Forces
The United States Armed Forces is the military force of the United States of America, composed of five branches: the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Space Force. The Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces is the President of the United States. The primary mission of the U.S. Armed Forces is to protect and defend the United States and its interests, both at home and abroad. This includes conducting military operations to defeat threats to U.S. national security, providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and supporting allies and partners around the world. The U.S. Armed Forces also play a critical role in space and astronautical engineering, with the establishment of the Space Force in 2019. The Space Force is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space, and to provide space capabilities to the joint force.
