Bone Resorption


Bone resorption is the process by which osteoclasts break down bone tissue and release minerals, resulting in a transfer of calcium from bone tissue to the blood. In space and astronautical engineering context, bone resorption is a major concern for astronauts who experience a decrease in bone density during spaceflight due to the lack of mechanical loading on bones in microgravity environments.
