Toroidal Vacuum Chamber

A toroidal vacuum chamber is a device used in space and astronautical engineering to simulate the conditions of outer space. It consists of a toroidal-shaped vessel that is evacuated to create a vacuum environment. The chamber is used to test the performance of spacecraft components and systems under the extreme conditions of space, including temperature fluctuations, radiation exposure, and the absence of atmospheric pressure. The toroidal shape of the chamber allows for the creation of a magnetic field, which can be used to simulate the Earth's magnetic field and study the effects of space weather on spacecraft. Toroidal vacuum chambers are also used to test plasma thrusters, which are a type of propulsion system used in space missions.
