Thrust-to-weight Ratio


Thrust-to-weight ratio is a measure of the efficiency of a rocket engine in the context of space and astronautical engineering. It is the ratio of the force (thrust) produced by the rocket engine to the mass of the rocket itself. A high thrust-to-weight ratio is desirable for a rocket to achieve the necessary acceleration to reach orbit or escape velocity.
