Synoptic Chart
A synoptic chart is a map that shows weather conditions over a large area at a given time. It is used to analyze and forecast weather patterns and is an important tool for meteorologists in predicting weather. The chart displays various weather elements such as temperature, pressure, wind direction and speed, cloud cover, and precipitation. These elements are represented by different symbols and colors, which are standardized to allow for easy interpretation. Synoptic charts are created by collecting data from weather stations, satellites, and other sources, and then plotting this data on a map. They are typically updated several times a day to reflect changes in weather patterns.
