SPOT (Satellite Pour l'Observation de la Terre) is a constellation of high-resolution, optical imaging Earth observation satellites operated by Airbus Defence and Space. The SPOT satellites are designed to provide imagery with a resolution ranging from 1.5 to 10 meters, depending on the satellite and the mode of operation. The satellites are placed in a sun-synchronous orbit, which allows them to image the same area at the same time of day, providing consistent lighting conditions for comparison over time.
