Schwarzschild Radius
Schwarzschild radius is the distance from the center of a celestial body at which the escape velocity equals the speed of light. It is the radius at which the gravitational pull of the body becomes so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape from it. The Schwarzschild radius is named after the German physicist Karl Schwarzschild, who first calculated this critical radius in 1916 using Einstein's theory of general relativity. The Schwarzschild radius is an important concept in astrophysics, particularly in the study of black holes, as it defines the boundary of the event horizon, the point of no return beyond which anything that enters the black hole is lost forever.
