Rocket Propellants

Rocket propellants are the chemical substances used to produce the thrust force that propels a rocket into space. They are typically composed of a fuel and an oxidizer, which react chemically to produce hot gases that are expelled out of the rocket nozzle to create thrust. The choice of propellant depends on various factors such as the mission requirements, the desired thrust, and the specific impulse. Solid propellants are typically used for small rockets and boosters, while liquid propellants are used for larger rockets and spacecraft. Hybrid propellants, which combine the advantages of both solid and liquid propellants, are also being developed. The development of new and more efficient propellants is an ongoing area of research in the field of space and astronautical engineering.
