Reed-Solomon

Reed-Solomon is a forward error correction code widely used in space and astronautical engineering to detect and correct errors in digital data transmission. It is particularly useful in situations where data is transmitted over noisy channels, such as satellite communication or deep space missions. Reed-Solomon codes are based on polynomial division, where the message is treated as coefficients of a polynomial and the code is generated by adding redundant coefficients to the polynomial. The code can then be decoded by performing polynomial division on the received data. Reed-Solomon codes are highly efficient and can correct a large number of errors with a relatively small amount of redundancy.
