Parabolic Trough
Parabolic Trough is a type of solar thermal collector that is used to generate electricity by harnessing the energy of the sun. It consists of a long, curved mirror that is shaped like a parabolic trough. The mirror is oriented towards the sun and reflects the sunlight onto a receiver tube that runs along the focal line of the mirror. The receiver tube contains a heat transfer fluid, which absorbs the heat from the concentrated sunlight and transfers it to a power cycle. The power cycle then converts the heat into electricity. Parabolic Troughs are commonly used in large-scale solar power plants and can generate electricity even on cloudy days due to their ability to concentrate sunlight. They are also relatively easy to manufacture and maintain, making them a cost-effective option for generating renewable energy.
