Optical Bands

In space and astronautical engineering, optical bands refer to the range of electromagnetic radiation wavelengths that are visible to the human eye. These wavelengths range from approximately 400 to 700 nanometers and are used in various applications such as remote sensing, imaging, and communication. Optical bands are commonly used in Earth observation satellites to capture high-resolution images of the planet's surface. The use of optical bands in space exploration also extends to the study of other celestial bodies such as planets, moons, and asteroids. By analyzing the reflected or emitted light from these objects in different optical bands, scientists can gain valuable insights into their composition, structure, and surface features.
