Mixture Ratio

Mixture ratio is the ratio of the mass of oxidizer to the mass of fuel in a rocket propellant. It is a critical parameter in rocket propulsion as it determines the amount of thrust produced by the engine. The mixture ratio is typically expressed as a decimal or a fraction. A mixture ratio of less than 1 indicates a fuel-rich mixture, while a mixture ratio greater than 1 indicates an oxidizer-rich mixture. The optimal mixture ratio for a rocket engine depends on various factors such as the type of propellant, the combustion chamber pressure, and the desired thrust. A mixture ratio that is too high or too low can result in incomplete combustion, reduced performance, or even engine failure.
