Missed Approach Procedure
In the context of aerospace engineering, a Missed Approach Procedure is a predefined maneuver which is executed by a pilot when an instrument approach cannot be completed to a full-stop landing. This procedure is typically initiated either upon the pilot's own discretion or when instructed by air traffic control. The primary purpose of a missed approach procedure is to ensure that the aircraft can safely transition from the low altitude environment near the airport back to the higher altitude en-route structure, while avoiding obstacles and other air traffic.
