Magnetosphere

Magnetosphere is the region around a planet where the planet's magnetic field dominates the interplanetary magnetic field. The magnetosphere acts as a shield, protecting the planet from the charged particles of the solar wind. The shape and size of the magnetosphere is determined by the strength and orientation of the planet's magnetic field, as well as the properties of the solar wind. The magnetosphere is a complex and dynamic system, with a variety of plasma processes occurring within it, including magnetic reconnection, particle acceleration, and wave-particle interactions.
