Kp Index

Kp Index is a measurement of the global geomagnetic activity used to monitor space weather. It is a 3-hourly planetary index derived from the observed fluctuations in the Earth's magnetic field caused by solar winds. The index ranges from 0 to 9, with 0 indicating very little geomagnetic activity and 9 indicating an extreme geomagnetic storm. Kp Index is used to predict the effects of space weather on technological systems such as power grids, communication networks, and satellite operations.
