
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is the national aerospace agency of Japan. It is responsible for research, development, and launch of satellites into orbit, as well as the development of rockets and other space-related technologies. JAXA also conducts research in various fields related to space exploration, such as space medicine, space environment utilization, and space robotics. The agency was established in 2003, succeeding the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA), the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS), and the National Aerospace Laboratory of Japan (NAL). JAXA has launched a number of successful missions, including the Hayabusa asteroid sample return mission and the Akatsuki Venus orbiter.
