Ground Support Infrastructure
Ground Support Infrastructure (GSI) refers to the physical and organizational structures and systems necessary to support space missions on the ground. This includes facilities for spacecraft assembly, integration and testing, launch vehicle processing, launch operations, and mission control. GSI also encompasses the communication networks, tracking and telemetry systems, and data processing centers required to monitor and control spacecraft in orbit. The design and construction of GSI is critical to the success of space missions, as it ensures that spacecraft are properly prepared for launch and that mission operations are conducted safely and efficiently. GSI is also responsible for the maintenance and repair of spacecraft and launch vehicles, as well as the development of new technologies and systems to improve space mission capabilities.
