Ground Control System

Ground Control System (GCS) is a set of equipment, software, and personnel that manage and monitor spacecraft and their payloads from the ground. GCS is responsible for tracking the spacecraft, sending commands to it, receiving telemetry data from it, and ensuring the safety and success of the mission. The system includes various components such as antennas, receivers, transmitters, computers, and communication networks. GCS operators use specialized software to monitor the spacecraft's health, diagnose problems, and execute corrective actions. They also plan and schedule mission activities, such as instrument operations, data downlink, and orbit maneuvers. GCS is critical for the success of any space mission, as it enables real-time communication and control of the spacecraft from the ground.
