Glacier
In space and astronautical engineering, a glacier refers to a large mass of ice that moves slowly over land. On other planets and moons, glaciers can be made of water ice, carbon dioxide ice, or methane ice. Glaciers are important features to study in planetary science because they can reveal information about the planet's climate and geology. For example, the presence of glaciers on Mars suggests that the planet may have had a much different climate in the past. In addition, studying the movement of glaciers can help scientists understand the properties of the planet's surface materials and the forces that act upon them.
