Ganymede

Ganymede is the largest moon of Jupiter and the only moon in the solar system known to have its own magnetic field. It is also the only moon known to have a thick oxygen atmosphere, which makes it a target for future exploration. Ganymede's surface is a mix of two types of terrain: highly cratered dark regions and lighter regions with grooves and ridges. The dark regions are believed to be ancient and heavily cratered, while the lighter regions are younger and have been shaped by tectonic forces. Ganymede's interior is composed of a rocky core surrounded by a layer of liquid water and a thick icy mantle. Its magnetic field is likely generated by a dynamo in the liquid water layer. Ganymede has been visited by only one spacecraft, NASA's Galileo mission, which orbited Jupiter from 1995 to 2003 and made several close flybys of the moon.
