Flares

Flares are pyrotechnic devices that are used in space and astronautical engineering to create a bright light or intense heat for signaling, illumination, or propulsion purposes. They can be launched from spacecraft or satellites to provide a visual signal to ground stations or other spacecraft. Flares can also be used for illumination during spacecraft operations or for propulsion by expelling hot gases. In addition, flares can be used for scientific purposes such as studying the Earth's atmosphere or the behavior of materials in extreme conditions.
