Feedback Control

In the context of aerospace engineering, feedback control refers to a system where the control action is based on the output of the system itself. This is a fundamental concept in the design and operation of many types of aerospace systems, from aircraft to spacecraft. The purpose of a feedback control system is to maintain a desired state or behavior of the system, despite disturbances or changes in the system's environment. This is achieved by continuously monitoring the system's output, comparing it with the desired output (the reference signal), and using the difference (the error signal) to adjust the system's input in a way that minimizes the error. Feedback control systems can be either linear or nonlinear, and they can be designed using various methods, such as classical control theory, modern control theory, or robust control theory. They are essential for ensuring the stability, performance, and safety of aerospace systems.
