Feedback
In the context of aerospace engineering, feedback refers to the process of using part of the output of a system to return it to the input which influences the operation of the system. This is a fundamental concept in control systems used in aerospace vehicles, such as aircraft and spacecraft. Feedback systems are designed to respond to changes in their environment or in their functioning, and to adjust their operation accordingly to maintain stability and performance. For example, in an aircraft, a feedback control system might adjust the angle of the control surfaces in response to changes in wind speed or direction, to maintain the aircraft's course and speed. Similarly, in a spacecraft, a feedback control system might adjust the thrust of the engines in response to changes in the spacecraft's velocity or direction, to maintain its trajectory. Feedback systems in aerospace engineering are typically implemented using electronic or computer-based control systems, and may involve complex algorithms and mathematical models.
