Epoch Time

Epoch time is the number of seconds that have elapsed since January 1, 1970, 00:00:00 UTC. It is a standard way of representing a point in time as a single number. Epoch time is widely used in computer systems, especially in the field of space and astronautical engineering, as it provides a consistent and unambiguous way of representing time across different platforms and programming languages. It is particularly useful for calculating time intervals and for comparing and sorting events that occur at different times. Epoch time is also used in GPS systems to calculate the current time and position of a receiver based on signals from satellites.
