Desiccant

In space and astronautical engineering, a desiccant is a substance used to absorb moisture from the air inside spacecraft or other space systems. The low humidity levels in space can cause static electricity, corrosion, and other problems, so desiccants are used to maintain a dry environment. Common desiccants used in space include silica gel, activated alumina, and molecular sieves. These materials are often packaged in small, sealed containers that can be easily replaced or regenerated as needed. Desiccants are also used in spacesuits to absorb moisture from the astronaut's breath and sweat.
