Counters

Counters are electronic circuits used to count the number of events or occurrences of a particular signal. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, counters are used in various applications such as tracking the number of revolutions of a spacecraft's wheels, counting the number of pulses generated by a sensor, or measuring the frequency of a signal. Counters can be designed using various technologies such as TTL, CMOS, or FPGA, and can be configured to count up, count down, or count both up and down. They can also be used in combination with other electronic circuits such as timers, comparators, and multiplexers to perform more complex functions. Counters are an essential component in many space systems and are used in various subsystems such as attitude control, telemetry, and power management.
