Artemis Program


Artemis Program is a NASA-led international human space exploration program with the goal of landing the first woman and the next man on the Moon by 2024 and establishing a sustainable presence on the lunar surface by the end of the decade. The program aims to use innovative technologies and systems to explore more of the Moon than ever before, enable eventual crewed missions to Mars, and enhance scientific understanding of the Earth-Moon system. Artemis Program involves the development of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, the Orion spacecraft, the Gateway lunar outpost, and a lunar lander system. The program also includes partnerships with commercial and international partners to provide additional capabilities and resources.
