Active Damping
Active damping is a technique used in space and astronautical engineering to reduce or eliminate unwanted vibrations in a spacecraft or satellite. This technique involves the use of sensors to detect vibrations and actuators to generate counteracting forces that cancel out the vibrations. Active damping is particularly important in space applications where vibrations can cause damage to sensitive equipment or disrupt the operation of scientific instruments. The effectiveness of active damping depends on the accuracy of the sensors and the speed and precision of the actuators. Advanced control algorithms are often used to optimize the performance of the active damping system.
